- 2 pck. yeast
- 1 c. water, lukewarm
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 2/3 c. melted shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 tsp salt
- 2 beaten egges
- 10 - 11 c. flour
Soften yeast in lukewarm water, add t tsp sugar. Add milk, cooled to lukewarm, shortening, sugar, eggs and salt. Add flour to make soft dough. Let stand 10 minutes. Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic.
Place in greased bowl, cover and store in refrigerator.
Shape rolls about 2 hours before serving. Let rise until double in size. Bake 425 degrees 15 to 20 minutes.
Can bake all of them and freeze. Warm up in oven or microwave about 20 seconds.
