Ingredients
- inch single crust:
- Crust
- 1 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3-4 TBS cold water
- *10 inch double crust:
- 2 2/3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 7-8 TBS cold water
- Filling
- 2-3 Handfuls of cornflakes or Wheaties
- 8-10 apples, cored, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 TBS margarine
- Cinnamon
- Glaze
- 1/4 cup XX sugar
- 1/2 vanilla
- 1-2 TBS mild

Preparation
Step 1
Crust
Mix together dry ingredients until well blended. Cut in shortening with fork. do not over mix *Roll out two crusts making one larger than the other.
Filling
Place larger crust onto pizza stone or pan (draping over edges). Sprinkle cereal flakes over crust. Arrange apple slices onto crust. Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter.
Sprinkle generously with cinnamon. Place smaller crust over apples and pull bottom crust up over top snugly. Trim away excess top crust and pull bottom crust up over top snugly. Bake at 375 for about 45 minutes until golden brown and apples are done.
Glaze
Mix together until smooth XX sugar, mild and vanilla. Pour over pie while still hot.
