Ingredients

  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup mixed candied fruit, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

Step 1

In small bowl combine raisins, dates, and fruit with brandy. Stir, cover and set aside 24 hours stirring occasionally.

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 9x13" pan. In a large bowl, at medium speed, beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, vanilla, orange peel, and salt. Continue beating until combined. Stir in flour, marinated fruit and nuts. Spread evenly in pan. Bake 25-35 minutes or until tests done. Cool and cut. Frost with buttercream frosting.
