You can also add anything else, like cayenne powder, garlic, cumin powder, asafoetida powder, etc..

Ingredients

  • 2 cups - broccoli, cut in to florets
  • 1 cup - chick pea flour (or all purpose flour)
  • 2 tsp - rice Flour (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin seeds
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Green chilies/hot peppers to taste
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In a food processor or a blender, mix flour, turmeric, cumin seeds, chilies, salt, and enough water to make a batter. Make sure it's not too thick. It should be a little runnier than pancake mix.
Dip the broccoli florets in and coat them well with the batter.
Deep fry in hot oil until they turn golden brown.
Serve hot with chili sauce or ketchup.
