Ingredients

  • Jar Cocoa Raising Chip Cookie Mix:
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour and baking powder together in mixing bowl. Layer ingredients in 1 1/2 quart wide mouth jar in following order: Flour mixture, cocoa, granulated sugar, brown sugar, chips, raisins and walnuts, Seal Jar.

Decorate jar and attach gift tag/recipe card:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 jar Cocoa Raisin Chip Cookie Mix (above)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease and dust with flour.

Beat butter and shortening together in large bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stir in vanilla. Mixture will be lumpy. Add jar mix to butter mixture. Stir until well blended. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
