Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg, separated
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup flour
• teaspoon salt
• finely chopped nuts
• shredded coconut
• confectioner's sugar icing
• Peanut M & Ms

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla. Sift flour and salt, add to creamed mixture, mix well using about 1 teaspoon dough, roll into 1 inch balls. Dip each ball into slightly beaten egg white. Roll in choped nuts or coconut. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degees for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, quickely press thumb gently on top of each cookie. Bake 4 minutes longer, Cool. Fill thumb prints with icing. Top with M & Ms peanut chocolate candies.
