Ingredients

  • 3/4 ¾ cup margarine, melted (1 ½ sticks) NEVER use butter!
  • 1 1/2 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1/2 ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 1 ½ cups flour
  • ----------------------------
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons slivered or sliced almonds

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray bottom of 9 inch round pan with Pam.

Combine margarine and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs, one at

a time. Add salt and extracts. Stir in flour until well blended.

Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle almonds (First) and remaining sugar over

the top of the batter. Bake 33-40 minutes until cake is golden brown and

Tests done. Cool thoroughly.

Note: 1 recipe make two 8 inch round pie pans.
