Peanut Butter Kiss Blossoms

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons shortening
• 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons peanut butter
• 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons brown sugar
• 1/4 cup 2 teaspoons white sugar
• 5/8 of an egg
• 1 tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon milk
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoons white sugar for decorating
• 9 ounce bag Hersey Kisses

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl cream together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and stir in milk and vanilla. Combine the flour , baking soda, and salt; stir into peanut butter mixture until well blended. Shape tablespoon size balls of dough and roll in sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press a cookie with chocolate kiss.
Allow to cool completely.
