  • 1 lb. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 lb. 8 oz. butter
  • 1 lb. 8 oz. eggs
  • 3 lb. sugar
  • .25 oz. salt
  • 1 oz. vanilla
  • 1 lb. bread flour
  • 1 lb. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler, set aside.

Sift together salt and bread flour.

Cream together sugar and eggs. Add vanilla and chocolate/butter mixture, making sure to temper the eggs first.

Slowly incorporate the salt and bread flour mixture until just incorporated (don't overmix)

Fold in chopped walnuts.

Bake at 350 degrees F until a toothpick comes out clean.
