Ingredients
- 1 lb. asparagus, trimmed
- 1/2 ½ cup butter
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 1 tsp. lemon zest
- 1 tbs. pepper
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt

Step 1
Bring 8 cups of salted water to a boil. Add the asparagus and boil until tender. Drain and set aside. In a skillet heat the butter over high heat. Add the garlic and shallot and cook 1 minute. Do not burn the garlic. Add the zest and pepper, cooking until butter begins to brown, about 2 minutes. Add juice and the salt. Remove from heat and toss with asparagus. Serve immediately.
