Ingredients

  • One Package Baker’s GERMAN SWEET CHOCOLATE
  • 2 Cups BUTTER
  • 3 EGGS Separated
  • 3/4 ¾ Cup CONFECTIONER’S SUGAR
  • 1 Teaspoon VANILLA
  • 1 Cup CHOPPED PECANS
  • 1 Purchased POUND CAKE (10 ½ ounce)
  • WHIPPED CREAM

Step 1

Melt CHOCOLATE and BUTTER.
Cool slightly and stir in beaten EGG YOKES. Add SUGAR.
Fold in stiffly beaten EGG WHITES.
Add VANILLA and PECANS.
Line an 8 X 8 inch baking dish with a layer of very thinly sliced CAKE.
Pour thin layer of chocolate mixture over CAKE.
Repeat layers until mixture is gone and chocolate is on top.
Refrigerate covered.
Serve with WHIPPED CREAM.
