Ingredients
- ½ c. butter or margarine
- ¾ c. sugar
- 1 t. finely shredded lemon peel
- 1 t. baking powder
- ¼ t. baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. milk
- 2 t. lemon juice
- 1-3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- ¼ c. sugar
- 2 T. lemon juice

Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl beat the butter or margarine with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add the 3/4 c. sugar, lemon peel, baking powder and soda. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg, milk, and the 2 t. lemon juice till combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or till edges are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let cool.
