Ingredients
- 4 cooking apples
- 2 tbs. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. grated lemon zest
- 1 tbs. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 ½ cup coarsely chipped walnuts
- 1/2 ½ cup honey, at room temperature
- 1/4 ¼ lb. melted butter
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 ¼ cup flour
- 1/4 ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1/4 ¼ tsp. allspice
- 1/4 ¼ tsp. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Core and peel the apples; spread the apples on the bottom of a generously buttered casserole dish. Sprinkle with zest and ½ of the cinnamon and strew with the walnuts. Drizzle the honey over the apples. In a bowl combine the butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and salt. Crumble evenly over apples. Bake until the apples are tender 45 minutes.
