Ingredients
- Confectioners' sugar OR:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup HERSHEY®’S Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- FROSTING:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup hot coffee or water
- 4-1/2 teaspoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Add egg and butter; mix well. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool. Dust with confectioners' sugar or frost. Yield: 9 servings.
