Ingredients

  • 48 Hershey’s kisses chocolate
  • 1/2 ½ cup shortening
  • 3/4 ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 1 ½ cup of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 ½ teaspoon salt
  • Granulated sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 375 and remove foil from chocolates.
2. Beat shortening and peanut butter inn large bowl until well blended. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat until fluffy.
3. Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well.
4. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt and gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.
5. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
7. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into each center of the cookie.
8. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and allow to cool completely.
