Ingredients
- •1 cup (250 mL) golden shortening
- •1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar
- •1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
- •2 (2) eggs
- •2 teaspoons (10 mL) vanilla
- •2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
- •1 teaspoon (5 mL) baking soda
- •1 teaspoon (5 mL) salt
- •1 package (300 g) (1) CHIPITS® Semi-Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips
- •1 cup (250 mL) chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In large bowl, beat shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy.
3. In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually blend into creamed mixture.
4. Stir in mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.
5. Drop from small spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
