Ingredients
- 1/2 ½ C. butter
- 1/2 ½ tsp. baking soda
- 2/3 C. white sugar
- 1 C. cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 C. flour
- 1 C. buttermilk
- 1/2 ½ tsp. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in large skillet. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended. Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan. Stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into greased 8 inch pan.
Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
