Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 2 Pounds pork roast or steak
- 2 Tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- ¾ Cup sugar
- ¼ Cup soy sauce
- 1/3 Cup vinegar
- 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
- Medium size can of pineapple chunks
- 1 Tablespoon ketchup
- Small jar maraschino cherries

Preparation
Step 1
Slice pork in thin strips. Brown in hot oil. Remove to warm dish and keep warm. In cooking oil used to saute meat, combine the onion and pepper and saute.
Mix in bowl the sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, cornstarch and juice from the pineapple chunks plus enough water to make 2/3 Cup ketchup and juice from cherries. Add to sauted onion and pepper in skillet. Heat until clear and thick.
Add meat, pineapple chunks and cherries. Heat thoroughly. Serve with rice and other Chinese dishes
