Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 2 teas baking soda
- 1 teas vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- granulated sugar (extra)

Preparation
Step 1
Set oven for 350
Mix first 5 ingredients set aside. Beat shortening until creamy add 1 cup sugar gradually continue to beat. Beat in eggs and molasses add abot 1/2 first 5 ingredients you set aside. Slowly mix in all dry ingredients.
Form dough into small balls, roll in the extra sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minuts or until tops are slightly rounded and cracked.
Cool on racks.
