  • 1 1 1 pound ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 1 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 1 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 2 2 Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 1/3 1/3 1/3 cup fresh sage, diced
  • 1 1 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1 1 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet and set aside.

In a deep skillet warm the oil over medium heat. Saute the onion and apple for 3-5 minutes or until soft and tender. Carefully remove the pieces from the heat and allow to cool.

In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, sage, cinnamon, fennel seed, salt, black pepper, and onion-apple mixture.

Form 2-inch meatballs with your hands and place on the greased baking sheet.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
