  • Topping:
  • 1/3 c. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. Nutmeg

Step 1

Cream butter and sugars; add egg and mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Beat well. Spread in greased 8-inch square pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until cake tests done.
