Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork steak, cut in 1-inch chunks
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 inch piece ginger, cut into 3 pieces (or 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder)
- Oil for frying
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 can (8 ounces) pineapple chunks
- Green pepper (optional)
- Onion (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Marinate pork in salt, cornstarch and shoyu for 10 minutes. Brown quickly in generous amount of oil; drain.
Mix sugar with vinegar and ginger and add to pork; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes.
Add pineapple chunks a few minutes before serving. Large pieces of green pepper and onion may also be added.
