- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 6 eggs, separated
- 2/3 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cocoa
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and gradually add sugars, beating well on medium speed. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Sift flour and cocoa together. Combine sour cream and baking soda. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in vanilla. Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form, Fold into batter. Grease and flour 10" tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.
