Step 1

Bring step 1 to a boil. Mix step 2 together, first mix in egg, milk, salt, and vanilla. Add the sifted cornstarch. Stir a little of the warm milk into the egg mix. Add the egg mix to the boiling milk. Bring mixture to a boil, mixing constantly.
