- 6 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 6 tbs. packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ tsp. grated lemon rind
- 6 tbs. whipping cream

Step 1
Line a pie plate with pastry dough. Combine brown sugar, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt; toss in the apples; spread mixture into a pastry shell. Dot with butter; then sprinkle the apples with lemon rind. Pour cream over top. Cover with top crust, sealing carefully, and making slits to allow steam to escape. Bake in 450 degrees oven for 10 minutes; reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30 – 35 minutes or until apples appear tender.
