Ingredients

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter room temp
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 cup flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 24 caramels or caramel syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 pan.

With beaters, beat sugar, butter, eggs and cocoa until blended. Reduce speed to low and add flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla until blended.

Spread batter into pan, top with chopped pecan.

Bake 25 minutes. Cool to room temperature.

In saucepan melt caramels, add vanilla. Drizzle over cake
