Ingredients
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1 Tbsp. yeast
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup milk
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup bran
- 2 cups white flour (approx.)

Step 1
Mix 1 cup wheat flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in large bowl. Scald the milk, water and oil. Stir into yeast mixture. Beat with mixer for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining wheat flour, bran and enough white flour to make a firm dough. Knead for 10 minutes or until elastic. Put in oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise until doubled. Turn dough out, roll to 3/4" thickness. Cut with 3" cutter. Let rise 25-30 minutes. Put on lightly oiled hot griddle and bake 10-12 minutes on each side until lightly browned. Cool. When ready to serve, split toast and butter.
