Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 1/2 cups quaker oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
- 1 12oz pkg. (2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Step 1
Heat oven to 375. Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-10 mins. for a chewy cookie or 12-13 mins. for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
