Ingredients
- Water
- 1 can (8 1/4 ounce) crushed pineapple in heavy syrup drained; reserve syrup
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce, optional
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup cider vinegar

Step 1
In 2 cup glass measure, add enough water to reserved syrup to equal 3/4 cup; stir in pineapple, sugar and soy sauce. Microwave on *high* 2 to 3 minutes; stir once.
Blend cornstarch with vinegar until smooth. Stir into pineapple mixture. Microwave *high* 2 to 3 minutes, or until sauce is slightly thickened; stir once.
*Variation*: Add 1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper with pineapple.
