Ingredients
- Pastry shell
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 - 3 tbs. butter
- 1 tbs. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Whisk together in a pan until blended the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
Slowly add in the milk and then whisk in the egg yolks.
Stir mixture with a wooden spoon, bringing the mix to a simmer over medium heat. Remove mixture from heat and whisk until smooth, return to heat and whisk bringing to asimmer and cooke for 1 minute off the heat.
Whisk in the butter and vanilla and spoon the filling into the crust. Top will whipped cream after the pie has chilled for 3 hours.
