Ingredients

  • 1 tbs. butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 ½ lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1/4 ¼ cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 16 large mushroom caps, blanched 3 minutes
  • 3 tbs. seasoned bread crumbs

Step 1

Heat butter in a frying pan. Saute the onion 2 – 3 minutes over medium-low heat. Add beef and parsley; season to taste. Continue cooking 3 – 4 minutes. Mix in cheese and cook 1 minute. Remove from heat and stuff mushroom caps.

Thread mushroom caps onto skewers with stuffing side up. Place on an ovenproof platter and sprinkle bread crumbs over stuffing. Broil 3 – 4 minutes in oven 6 inches from the top element. Do not turn skewers over.
