Ingredients

1 c. granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl in order. Beat like crazy until batter is smooth. Bake in greased 8 x 8 pan at 350 F for 35 minutes. If in a hurry put 2 milk chocolate bars on while hot and spread or spread regular icing on the cake when cooled.
