- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar

- 1 cup milk
- 2 Tbs. rum
- 1 Tbs. grated key lime zest
- 2 tsp. key lime juice
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 Tbs. key lime juice
- 3 Tbs. rum

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 10-inch bundt pan.
Mix flour and baking powder. In a large bowl, cream together butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Add rum, key lime zest, juices, and vanilla. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Meanwhile, make glaze by combining sugar, butter, and lime juice in small saucepan. Boil for two minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add rum.
Cool cake in pan 10 minutes. Poke holes in cake with wooden pick. Pour glaze over cake. Cool completely.
