Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 2-1/2 c. flour
  • 1-2/3 c. sugar
  • 1-1/4 teas. Baking powder
  • 1-1/4 teas. Baking soda
  • 1 teas. salt
  • 2/3 c. spry
  • 2/3 c. sour milk
  • 1-1/4 c. mashed bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 stick butter
  • 8 Tbls. spry
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 teas maple flavoring

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add 2/3 c. spry, 1/3 cup sour milk and mashed bananas. Beat for 2 minutes. Add another 1/3 c. sour milk and 2 eggs. Beat well. Pour into 9x13, greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or til toothpick comes out clean in center.



Frosting:
Boil 1 c. milk 3 times cooling each time. You should have 1/2 c. left. Add cooled milk a little at a time to creamed butter, spry, and sugar, beating until fluffy each teme. Add stiffly beaten egg whites in same manner. Add maple flavoring and frost cake.
