  • Crust:
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 ½ c. flour
  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • Filling:
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 pkg (12 oz.) chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Step 1

Combine butter, sugar, eggs. Add vanilla, salt, soda, flour and oatmeal. Mix well. Spoon and pat lightly ½ of mixture into bottom of 9 x 13 pan.

For filling, combine butter, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in saucepan (or you can do this in the microwave also). Melt over low heat, stirring constantly. When chips are melted, add in vanilla.

Pour filling mixture over the oatmeal crust in the pan and spread evenly. Top with remaining oatmeal mixture by teaspoonfuls on top of filling layer. Pat down slightly. Bake for 20-30 minutes in a 350 degree oven until just lightly browned.
