Ingredients
- Nutmeg Sauce:
- 3/4 c. plus 1 T. flour
- 2 T. sugar
- 1 T. butter or margarine, melted
- 3/4 t. B.P.
- 1/4 t. soda
- 1/8 t. salt
- 1/3 c. nonfat buttermilk
- 4 c. peeled, thinly sliced cooking apple (about 1 lb)
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed and undiluted
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1 T. flour
- 1 T. brown sugar
- 1 c. unsweetened apple juice
- 1 t. butter or margarine
- 1/4 t. nutmeg
- dash of salt

Step 1
Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl, stir well. Add buttermilk; stir just until dry ingds. are moistened, set aside.
Combine apple and next 3 ingds. in large Dutch oven. Cover and cook over medium heat 5 mins. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto apple mixture. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 mins. (Do not uncover Dutch oven during cooking time).
Serve warm with Nutmeg Sauce.
For sauce: combine flour and brown sugar in saucepan; stir well. Gradually add apple juice, stirring well; bring to a boil over medium heat. Add butter, and cook 5 mins. Remove from heat. Add nutmeg and salt; stir with a wire whisk until well blended.
