Frozen Chocolate Mousse Squares
By Addie
Chocolate on chocolate, topped with chocolate. Sound stupendous? It is, from the OREO Cookie crust to the whipped center to the chocolate curls on top.

Ingredients
- 12 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 1 cup)
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 2 tubs (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
- 4 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
- 1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- Chocolate curls (see Tip)
Details
Preparation
Step 1
LINE 9-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Mix cookie crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of prepared pan.
BEAT cream cheese spread in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Gradually beat in milk, then chocolate. Whisk in COOL WHIP; pour over crust.
FREEZE 6 hours. Remove dessert from freezer 15 min. before serving. Use foil handles to lift dessert from pan. Let stand at room temperature to soften slightly before cutting into squares. Garnish with chocolate curls just before serving.
To make the chocolate curls, melt 2 oz. additional BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate; spread with spatula into very thin layer on baking sheet. Refrigerate 10 min. or until chocolate is firm but still pliable. Push a metal spatula firmly along the baking sheet, under the chocolate, so the chocolate curls as it is pushed. (If chocolate is too firm to curl, let stand a few minutes at room temperature; refrigerate again if it becomes too soft.) Use a toothpick to carefully place chocolate curls on waxed paper-covered tray. Refrigerate 15 min. or until firm. Use toothpick to arrange curls on dessert. Freeze any remaining curls in airtight container for up to 6 months.

Taste good, I skipped the chocolate garnish.
Very good and easy to make. I used extra cookies and extra chocalote chips. I have used spread and standard cream cheese and both were good.
Big hit at Super Bowl party. Only froze for 4 hours instead of 6 as recipe stated. Guests said it was perfect. Overall easy to make.
Wow, oh Wow, oh Wow! This is very yummy. Quite rich, so you only need a small piece, but so worth it. Made 2 of them. One for girls game night and one for family. EVERYONE LOVED IT!!
Next time I will add more chocolate & Cool Whip.
delicious, rich recipe. I would not change any part of it. I cut the leftover into small portions it made it easier to freeze and eat later. It keeps well (all gone now !!! ) Small portions are very satisfying.
I thought it was really delicious. The only thing I did different was I used more chocolate, & oreos. Obviously I had to use more butter also. It was just a little bit more than 3/4 of a stick. And also I used 6 squares of chocolate instead of 4. But that's me, I like chocolate(: Haaaa.
This was delish, but by "freezer" do they mean refrigerate? I put in freezer and even after 15 min. was like a mousse pop, I think I will slice after 15 min. then leave out the pieces I cut to soften so its more like a softer mousse, I did however find frozen easy so I could flip it out of the pan and lay it on a flat surface to cut it, then pop rest back to store, again, in freezer, but it gets like a chocolate brick when frozen. That being said, the only thing I did was increase cookies by about 6-7, used processor to chop, but other than that I followed recipe as written, just not sure about the freezer part. I am thinking it would firm up fine just in fridge, maybe I will try that next time. Choc. curls or a dollop of cream would dress it up for company or grated choc. on top of a dollop with a berry.
This was a big hit with my family! I used chunck cream cheese instead of spread and it was a thick cheesecake consistency. Still very good. I will try some of the other suggestions like more oreos, next time.
This recipe turned out fabulous - a big hit for a summertime dinner party! Taking into account other's suggestions, I used more oreo cookies (20 instead of 12); more chocolate squares(5 instead of 4); and more whipped topping (about 1-1/2 tubs). I also used two 8-oz tubs of the WHIPPED cream cheese spread. Next time I will experiment using low-fat ingredients.
This dessert is spectacular! I too used more Oreos for the crust about 18, but I like thicker crust. Of those 18, 6 of them were MINT Oreos to give a little minty flavor. It was great! You must use Cream Cheese SPREAD to get your light and fluffy consistency. I even used the WHIPPED cream cheese Spread and it was really fluffy. Garnish with raspberries and chocolate shavings and your dessert is heavenly.
Have had this recipe for a while but made it for the first time yesterday. 3 words...Easy, Awesome, Excellent. I cut calories wherever possible (lite cream cheese, fat free whipped topping, etc.) & it still turned out superb. Could have doubled the recipe!
Too sweet. I could taste more of the sweetened condensed milk than I could the chocolate. Next time will use less sweetened condensed milk and more chocolate and cool whip.
This recipe was easy, but not chocolaty enough for my family-it tasted more like cheesecake and was a bit too "tangy"
This was very quick and simple to make, my daughter even helped me out. I would add a few more Oreos to make the crust layer a little thicker; you need it to break up the richness of the mousse layer. I would also suggust crushed Oreos or chocolate shavings for the top. Great make ahead dessert!
Quick and easy to make. Very good dessert for the chocolate lover. Very rich, a little goes a long way. Shared with family, who also loved it.
This dessert is more like a no-bake cheesecake than a mousse, but delicious anyway!
I love the creaminess of this dessert and it has a rich taste of chocolate. The Oreos give it a little crunch and it tastes great. This is a great dessert on a hot summer day.
This looks really good. I think I might try adding some instant coffee to make it a Mocha Mousse.
This was really good very creamy.
I forgot to add in my review, that I used a few more oreos than called for.. I think I used about 18 just to make the crust a little thicker, but you can eye it and add as many as you want. Also next time I make this I think I'm going to try and use only one container of cream cheese and add more cool whip. It was good but I just want to experiment a little and see how it comes out.
I will definately make this with only one pkg of cream cheese and more cool whip next time as suggested. I made it according to the recipe and my girls & I thought it was too much cream cheese. It was very good otherwise.
Easy & tastes great!! I lowered the calories & fat by switching to low fat cream cheese, fat free cool whip & low fat condensed milk.
I made this recipe last weekend. I did not have all the semi-sweet chocolate so I used 2 squares bitter-sweet and 1 square of the semi-sweet and one square of white chocolate. It was good, but it is really thick and the flavor was ok...it reminded me of a latte I would get at starbucks.I thought it was good, I will make again and see how much more this can be tweaked. I think maybe I will try with halfing the ingredients and see what happends.
Im making this recipe for a new years eve party and instead of putting it in a pan I used the 'Frozen Chocolate "Soufflés"' recipe idea from kraft which consists of of freezing it in a cup to make it look more elegant. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. hopefully its not a disaster. The tatse is great!

Thought this was a very smooth & refreshing dessert. Has a good chocolate taste for those of us who are chocoholics! Definitely wouldn't hesitate making this over & over again.
I had a birthday gathering with my girlfriends on my patio and I made this dessert. It was awesome. My friends thought that I bought it. Very good dessert....My husband loved it too.
I followed other people's recommendations (cut it down to one container of cream cheese and added more whipped cream) and this turned out to be great. It's very addictive and delicious!
This is a great dessert! very easy to make and delicious! Will definitely take this to my next get-together!
