Ingredients

  • 1 pkg (8 rolls) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 T. butter
  • 2 c. cooked, cubed chicken breast
  • 2 T. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. crushed, seasoned croutons
  • Cheese Sauce (see recipe)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Divide crescent roll dough into 4 rectangles, pinching diagonal seam together. With a rolling pin, slightly flatten rectangles. In a bowl, stir together cream cheese and the softened butter. Stir in cooked chicken. Place 1/4 of the mixture on one side of each dough rectangle. Fold in half and pinch at seal seams. Brush bundles with melted butter. Roll in crushed croutons. Place in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Serve with cheese sauce.

CHEESE SAUCE

2 T. butter
2 T. flour
1/8 t. salt
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shredded American cheese
1 T. finely chopped onion
1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
dash pepper

In a 1 qt. saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour and salt. Add milk; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Cook until cheese is melted. Makes about 1 1/2 c.
