Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Becel Margarine
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 1 cup sugar (1 cup sugar can be cut down to ½ cup, but then add 1/8 cup of Sugar Twin)
  • 1 egg (1 egg can be substituted for 50 ml egg substitute)
  • ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spray an 8 inch square pan.
Melt the margarine and stir in the cocoa, sugar, egg, applesauce and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Gentle stir in the flour, baking soda and salt
Bake for 25 – 30 minutes. Cool and cut into 16 squares with a hot, wet knife. Keep them in the refrigerator.
