Sugar Cookies Soft Old Fashion Type

Ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup thick cream or undiluted evaporated milk
• 4 eggs
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
• 5 1/2 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar, butter and shortening adding cream and eggs. Add dry ingredients blending well. Best if chilled overnight.

Roll dough on floured board to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with large cookie cutter sprinkle with sugar and bake on ungreased cookie sheets in preheated over 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.
