Ingredients
- 400 grams puff pastry
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tbs. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation
Step 1
Roll puff pastry into a 9 inch square. Cut our pastry with a leaf cookie cutter. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, until golden. Cool slightly.
Cream together butter, sugar, juice, and vanilla; beat in simple syrup and egg, pour into a pan and simmer over medium high heat. Simmer for 8 minutes; making sure the mixture doesn't boil over.
Press down the cooked puff pastry in the center of each leaf, fill with nuts, and cover with filling.
