Savory Beef in Red Wine

Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 3-4 lbs stew meat
- 2 1/2 cups dry red wine
- 3 tsp beef bouillon
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 T tomato paste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/3 cup flour
- 4 T oil
- 4 T butter
- 20-24 small onions
- 1 lb mushrooms

Step 1
Cook bacon until transparent; remove from pan and set aside. Add meat to bacon drippings and brown. Place meats in crockpot. Mix wine, bouillon, broth, tomato paste, garlic and thyme. Pour over meat. About 1 hour before serving melt butter; add butter and cook over medium heat until browned. Mix slowly into meat. saute mushrooms and onions; add to meat. Serve over noodles.
