Molasses Cookies

The molasses cookies are on the back of Grandma's Original Molasses jar. They are called Molasses Crinkle Cookies.

Ingredients
- 3/4 c. softened shortening 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. packed light brown sugar 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. Grandma's Molasses 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger

Preparation
Step 1
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses. Stir in remaining ingredients. Chill dough. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts, dip tops in sugar. Place sugared side up on greased baking sheet. Sprinkle cookies with 2-3 drops of wather each for a crackled surface. Bake 8-10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen.
My girls enjoyed dipping these in sugar and dropping water on them:o)
