  • 2 18-1/4 oz pkgs. chocolate cake mix (I used Devil's Food cake mix)
  • 19.8 oz pkg brownie mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 c oil
  • 3/4 c. water

Step 1

Mix ingredients together in a large mixing bowl; drop 3 inches apart by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.

Place a creme de menthe thin on top of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven...let melt and swirl with a knife for a green and chocolate marble effect. I also saw the same recipe on the Gooseberry Patch calendar and they put a Valentine Candy heart in the middle of them.

This batter becomes really thick and gave my standing mixer a work out, but they are really good...I have come to the conclusion that cooling them on the pan makes it easier to remove them a few minutes later.
