Ingredients
- 2 to 2 1/2 pound chicken parts
- 3 stalks celery, cut up
- 2 bay leaves, crushed
- 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons peppercorns or pepper to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8 cups hot water
- 2 carrots, shredded (about 1 cup)
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups fine egg noodles
- 2 teaspoons salt

Preparation
Step 1
In 5-quart casserole, combine chicken, celery, bay leaves, peppercorns, onion and water Cover with lid. Microwave at *high* 10 minutes and at *medium-low* 35 to 37 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken from broth and cool. Strain broth into bowl and pour back into casserole. Add carrots, noodles and salt to broth. Microwave, covered, at *medium-low* 7 to 8 minutes. Meanwhile, remove chicken from bone. Add chicken to soup and let stand, covered, 7 to 8 minutes or until noodles are tender.
