Garlic Bread with Cheese

Garlicky and with plenty of cheese, this popular accompaniment is a real crowd-pleaser. Use other mild cheese (such as mozzarella or Swiss) or sharp cheese (such as Cheddar or Gruyere) to suit your taste.

Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 1/4 cup cup(50 mL) butter, softened
- 2 minced cloves of garlic
- 2 tbsp(25 mL) chopped fresh parsley
- 1 cup (250 mL) shredded Asiago cheese or fontina cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Cut baguette in half crosswise; cut each in half horizontally.
In small bowl, stir together butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley and pinch each salt and pepper; spread over cut sides of baguette.
Place baguette on rimmed baking sheet; sprinkle with cheese. Bake in 425°F (220°C) oven until cheese is bubbly and bread is golden, about 12 minutes.
