Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can kidney beans, rinsed
- 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 2 14 1/2 oz. cans stewed tomatoes (I use Libby's chili tomatoes)
- 1 c. water
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 c. chili powder (or to your liking)
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. basil
- 1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp. thyme
- 1 tbsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. marjoram

Preparation
Step 1
In large skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to slow cooker. Stir in the beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes, water and seasonings.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. Discard the bay leaves. If desired garnish with shredded cheese and onions.
