Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 lbs beef flank steak
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2-3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 package onion mushroom soup mix
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire

Step 1

1. Mix the flour, garlic powder and seasoned salt together in a shallow dish. Season with pepper to taste. Dip the steak in the flour mixture evenly coating both sides. Set aside. Discard any remaining flour mixture.

2. Heat the cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the steak in the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 mins for each side. Remove steak from skillet. Stir in the flour and let cook for 2 mins. Stir in onion mushroom soup mix, making sure completely mixed in with the roux. Slowly stir in broth and Worcestershire. Add steak back to skillet, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until steak is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.

3. To serve, remove steak from the skillet, and slice across the grain in thin strips. Place on serving plates, and ladle sauce over meat.
