  • 6 cups water
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp mixed pickling spices
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 pound raw cleaned shrimp (2 pounds in shells)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients; bring to boiling. Add shrimp (in shells, or peeled and cleaned). Cover; heat to boiling, then lower heat and simmer gently just till shrimp turn pink, about 5 minutes. Drain. If cooked in shell, peel and remove vein that runs down back. Chill
