Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. Yukon gold potatoes
  • 3/4 lb. onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup grated Gryere cheese
  • 8 tbs. grated cheese
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream

Preparation

Step 1

Combine potatoes and sliced onions in a pan. Add enough water to cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are almost tender, about 3 minutes. Drain potato onion mix.

Arrange 1/2 the potato-onion mix in an 11 x 7 baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sprinkle mix with 1/3 cup Gryere cheese, and then 2 tbs. Parmesan. Arrange remainig potato onion mix over top. Pour cream over and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with remainina cheese and chill up to 8 hours.

Bake in 400 degree oven uncovered until cooked through.
